What is Invisalign® for teens?

Invisalign® treatment for teens is nearly the same as Invisalign® for adults, with a few added features to help teens get the most out of their treatment. Teen aligners come with blue compliance indicators to help you remember to wear your aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day.

Invisalign® clear aligners for teens also come with eruption tabs, or spaces, that allow for the growth of additional molars. The aligners are removable, so your teen can take them out for meals, brushing and flossing, and important social events as needed.

How does Invisalign® treatment for teens work?

With our cutting-edge 3D scanning technology we will make a virtual model of your unique smile. This model will then be used to create a personalised treatment plan to take you from start to finish.

You will be given a series of custom aligners, each shaped a bit differently with the goal of gently shifting your teeth into alignment. We will advise you to switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks, which you can do from the comfort of your home!

In order to get the most out of your treatment, it is important to take care of your teeth and appliances. Here are a few tips:

  • Be sure to remove your aligners when eating or drinking coloured liquids, so you don’t damage or stain them.
  • To avoid losing your aligners, we recommend putting them in their case whenever you are not using them.
  • Wear your aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day for best results.
  • Gently clean your aligners with a soft-bristled toothbrush every night.
  • Brush and floss your teeth after each meal, before placing your aligners back in.
  • Keep your aligners out of reach of pets that may chew on them.
  • Contact our team right away if an aligner is lost or damaged.
