We are committed to supporting our local community in a number of different ways. From sponsoring local sports teams to visiting schools to talk about oral hygiene, keep an eye out for the Bachmayer Orthodontic team.
Each year we put on a large skating party at the local ice rink. This allows us to catch up with patients and parents in a relaxed atmosphere. Each patient can bring a friend. A small voluntary coin donation is made by each family and the proceeds, together with a donation from our practice, are donated to a local children’s charity each year.
For a number of years, we have sponsored many of the local sports clubs for whom our patients play. This has included local cricket, netball and soccer clubs that are always in need of funds to purchase equipment and uniforms.
Many of our patients from these clubs have gone on to represent the State and, even, Australia in their respective sports. The Bachmayer Orthodontic Clinic has the pleasure of being the Platinum Sponsor for the local Little Athletics.
We have been preparing meals for children and families at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead, through the “Meals from The Heart” programme for almost ten years. This initiative enables businesses to give some of their time by devising a menu and preparing and serving a meal. We are privileged to be involved in this each year.
For a number of years, Dr Bachmayer has been involved in doing outreach work to a disadvantaged community in Caluan in the Philippines. A medical and dental team comprising Doctors and Dentists provide basic medical and dental treatment to this people who are in need.
The dental treatment provided in this community is very different to that provided in our modern orthodontic surgery here in Sydney and provides a reminder to us all how privileged we are here in Australia.
Every year, we visit many local schools to provide interactive oral health education classes. The material we cover is outlined by the Board of Studies PDHPE K-6 syllabus. We explain oral hygiene procedures and what a child may experience at the dentist/orthodontist These visits have been highly successful and are now sought after by a number of schools. If your school would like us to visit, please let us know and we will contact them directly.
We have a commitment to providing our community with the highest level of dental care. In 2002, we set up a unique study club in Sydney comprised of local dentists and specialists that meets once a month to discuss treatment planning and new developments in the field of dentistry. In this way our patients benefit with receiving the highest standard of dental care.
